The Regular Meeting of the Town Board was held on April 18, 2006 in the Town Hall. 

 

Meeting called to order at 7:00 PM by Supervisor Hoffmier with the Pledge of Allegiance

 

Board Members pesent was-- Dennis Whittaker, Albert Warner, Jr., Trudy Bentley and Audrey Payne.

Absent was Karl Spoonhower Hwy. Sup’t.

 

Dennis Whittaker, seconded by Trudy Bentley made approval of March minutes.  Carried.

 

Privilege of the Floor: Ron McEwen asks status of te trailer on land (Ed Starks) and the Church.

Communicaations with lawyer—Nothing has been done – Case to be closed?  Still open and to go to

the County.  Judge threw out case.

 

                                                Communications and Petitions

 

Passed to the board Jim Ceurters letter applying for the Code Officers job.

Sales Tax infromation (How much the Town received).

Justice Report for March was passed to be filed.

Planning Board Minutes (Clerk did not receive them).

 

               

                                                Reports

 

Co. Planning Board—absent.

Highway Dept.—absent

Code Enforcement—Joe Ceurter read report and left it to be filed with Clerk

Planning Board—Jim Lacey wants better communicaations between the Town Board and

the Planning Board perferably through written needs on the forms presented by him.  Possible that a new

member will be  joining. They meet the 4th Tues of the month.

Clerk- Passed report to be filed.

Dog Control—Nothing to report.

Committee reports—none at this time.

Supervisor—Greivance Day will be May 29, Hours 4-8 PM

The Assessor wants to change her monthly meeting time to Sunday 5-6 PM.  Motion to allow her

to hange the time was made by Trudy Bentley,   Audrey Payne not in favor, Dennis Whitttaker not

in favor, Al Warner in favor of changing Supervisor not in favor of changing.  Dnnis Whittaker will

discuss with her to stick with Monday hours.  Tabled the vote for now.  Jim Laecy says that our tax

maps are not current.  Real Property Tax Office gets a new set to each Town each year.  Check

with assessor on this.

 

                                                Old Business

 

Gradall-Bids—Karl absent

Mowing Contract—awarded to Tim Vandenburg.  Dennis Whittaker seconded by Trudy Bentley made this bid motion.   Carried.

Clean Up along roadside will be done Sat 4-22.  Meet at Post Office and Town Barn.

Junk Car Ordinance—Jim Lacey will take ideas and work into his draft.  Need to get the Judge and see

if he’ll follow through  with tickets.  Table for now.

Loader—Karl absent.

CEO—advertise for one on E-Mail that has already been trained.

Planning Board Vacancy—no candidate at this time.   Have a Board Member fill in whenever a vacancy occurs or some one is absent?

Newsletter—Dennis Whittaker wants to continue with this but needs a volunteer to collect ads

Pick Up bids—None received.

Stateline Auto—Need to find out if still in operation, if not give 6 months to clean up.  Go through Joe Ceurter to do this.

 

                                        New Business

 

Quickbooks—Cost 200-500 dollars and gives updated tax statements and updates.  Need to invistigate more on this.  Asking Board to spend up to $500. if necessary.  Motion to allow was given by Trudy Bentley, Seconded by Albert Warner, Jr.  Carried.

Riichford Justice—Resolution allowing Charles Brundza to be the Justice in Richford.  Motion by Dennis Whittaker, seconded by Trudy Bentley to allow our Justice to work in Richford.  Carried.

Court Grant Resolut ion—Charles Brundza   working on grant needs our support.  Mot ion by T rudy Bentley seconded by Dennis Whittaker to grant support.  Carried.

Highway Capital Reserve Fund—Needs Boaard appoval to move $50,000. From Capital Reseve to Machinery DA5130.2.  Motion to allow the transfer was made byTrudy Bentley seconded by Albert Warner, Jr.  Carried.

 

                                        Warrants

Highway #51-63  $7,879.63

General #47-61 $13,431.96 Motion to pay as audited was made by Trudy Bentley seconded by Audrey Payne.  Carried.

 

Trudy Bentley seconded by Audrey Payne made motion to Adjourn at 7:48 PM.  Carried.
