The Town of Berkshire held their regular monthly meting on April 17, 2007 in.

 the Town Hall.

Meeting called to order by Supervisor Hoffmier at 7:00 PM. With the Pledge of Allegiance.

Members in attendance were:  Dennis Whittaker, Trudy Bentley, and Audrey Payne.   Also present was Karl Spoonhower Hwy Sup’t..  Albert Warner Jr. was absent.

Correction to the March minutes made by Dennis Whittaker—Under Old Business—Mowing Contract c.  Sam Davison awarded the Ball Field (bid was higher but was awarded to prevent  conflict between coaches and mowing contractors.).  Also the word tires should have been tires under Trash Clean-up.  Seconded by Trudy Bentley. Carried.

County Legislator- Absent

Privilege of  Floor-None.

 

                                    Communications and Petition

 

FEMA money received for Akins, Shirley, Jewett Hill Bridge, Ceurter, Barnes Hill Rd. and Ford Hill by the cemetery area.   April 18, 2007 the County Planning Board meets in the Town Hall 7:30 PM.

 

                                                Reports

 

A.  Co, Planning Board-absent.

2. Highway Dept.-Pipes are here for Akins Rd.  Paving will be done on Shirley and Dimon Rd.  this Summer.  Grader work at 5 Star Equipment.  Windows for Tall Hall at Greene’s.
3. Code Enforcement-Report filed with clerk.
4. Planning Board-Jim Lacey-Look at laws on each one wants a specific law format for all to able to read on.  All laws are over 5 years and New York wants them
    updated.

Town of Maine—worked hard on this we feel this law of any—

All Buildings should apply. Asking Dept. of Ag and Mkts what defines a farm?-

Size of income-Included in Planning Board Minutes.

Under New Business (Planning Board Minutes).  Mandatory Training for Planning Board Members—Dennis Whittaker makes the motion that 4.0 hours o training is satisfactory for compliance.  Seconded by Trudy Bentley.  Carried.

Dennis Whittaker makes the reappointment for Jim Lacey to be a member of the Planning Board.  Seconded by Trudy Bentley Carried.

      E.. Clerk passed her report.

7. Committee reports—Highway Inventory 2007 has been completed.
8. Supervisor—Will seek insurance quotes from other agencies.

 

 

Old Business

1. Adopt-Highway clean up on 4-14
2. Newsletter continuation—“No More”—Will do on e-mail “Berkshire Happenings”

 

New Business

1. Floors—Bathroom and ramp $1200.00 for vinyl and laminate (1400 sq.ft to get vinyl for the bathroom. Motion by Dennis Whittaker seconded by Trudy Bentley

To get vinyl for bathroom.  Carried.  Will hold the laminate price for now.  Carried.  Agreed to purchase a membership at Sam’s Club.  Motion by Trudy Bentley seconded by Dennis Whittaker.  Carried.

Ac Hoc—Look at law, but wants a specific law format for all to e able to read on.

All laws over 5 years old New York State wants them updated.

 

                        Warrant

 

Trudy Bentley makes the motion to pay General Fund #35-49 $8960.74 except #46 need a new check. Seconded by Dennis Whittaker.  Carried

Audrey Payne makes the motion to pay Highway Fund #51-64 $8992.04 Seconded by Trudy Bentley.  Carried.

 

Motion to adjourn at 7:50 PM made by Trudy Bentley, seconded by Audrey Payne.  Carried.
