     The Town Board of the Town of Berkshire held their regular meeting in the Town Hall on June 20, 2006.

     Supervisor Hoffmier called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM opening with the pledge of allegiance.

Board members present were: Dennis Whittaker, Albert Warner, Jr., Trudy Bentley, and Audrey Payne.

Absent was Karl Spoonhower Sup’t of Hwys.

Trudy Bentley seconded by Albert Warner, Jr, made approval of May minutes.  Carried

Co Legislator Richard  Harrington—absent

Privilege of the floor—Ron McEwen asks the status of the Vlasyak trailer on the old horse farm.  Dennis Whittaker asks at the county level and they said the case is closed—So now the Code Enforcemnt officer can persue Mr. Vlasyak on the removal of it.

 

                                                                Communications and Petitions

 

Planning Boaard Minutes were passed and read for April.  (I did not get the copy).

                                                               

                                                                Reports

 

Co. Plan Bd.—absent

Hwy. Dept.—absent

Code—Joe Ceurter read report and left it to be filed, sent violations to all violators-- Stateline is to get a notice of violation and a specific time frame to comply or clean it up.  Joe will handle it and wants to finish all permits that he issued and are not final at no charge to the Town.

Planning Bd.—Jim Lacey talks about adhock (temporary members to planning board) Not sure of actual understanding, will continue to work on updating law.  No July + August meeeting.  Will get Joe’s changes into this by next meeting.  Schedule a Public Hearing maybe for August.

Town Clerk—passed report.

Dog Control—Nothing to report

Justice –No report

Committee reports—nothig to report.

Supervisor report—Cash Flow reports were handed out.   Need to find another advertiser for the Newsletter.

                                                                Old Business

 

Assessor:  Tina Raison will continue to hold meetings on Tuesday 6-7 PM once a month.

 

                                                                New Business

 

Audit responsibilllities: Dennis Whittaker presented the following resolution

“Where as the sole responsibilty for audit and determing the suitability of any request for payment made to the Town of Berkshire rests with the Town Board, It is hereby resolved this 20th day of June 2006, that any and all vouchers approved by the Highway Sup’t., Town Supervisor and or Deputy Supervisor will be entered onto the appropriate warrant as requested by the approving authority,” Motion by Dennis Whittaker to adopt, seconded by Trudy Bentley.  Carried.

Assessment—Will be working to get to 100% assesment, equalization rate for the Town is 4.9%

Data Collection done by Ann Buck isn’t to be found.  Has to be done over.

NYMIR renewal needs to look at other brokers for prices.

Variences—Joe lef the McNally paperwork at home—table until next month.  John and

LillianHoffmier want to sell a 2 acre lot and split it into 1 acre lots that don’t have the 150’ frontage as required in the building code.  Variance granted.  Motion made by Trudy Bentley, seconded by Albert

REAP—Will be asking for Financial Aid to help fund this organization.   Marissa will be coming to the August meeting to expalin this.

 

                                                                Approval of Warrants:

 

General Fund #80 - #99  $17,913.82   Voucher #83  Check needs to be rewritten or the shipping charges need to be on another check.  Were deducted off twice.

 

Highway Fund #78-94 $21,780.04  Voucher #92 needs to have truck VIN on it.  #94 Needs Vehicle # on it.

 

Pay as audited was made by Trudy Bentley seconded by Albert Warner, Jr. with above changes made.  Carried.
